You can indulge in the cinema experience for free at Odeon (if you’re an O2 customer), but tickets are in short supply. Here’s how to bag the offer before it runs out.
Checking what rewards your phone provider offer is a classic way to bag the best TV and music streaming deals, and even free coffee.
We reveal how to bag a free Odeon cinema ticket if you’re an O2 customer.
How to get a free Odeon cinema ticket from O2
O2 is offering its customers a free Odeon cinema (opens in new tab) ticket worth £6.95 (for a standard ticket), but numbers are limited each week. Here’s how to bag yours.
- You will find the offer on the O2 Priority app, so if you don’t have that, you need to download it on your phone (available on Apple and Android). If you don’t want to download the app, you can go to the O2 priority website (opens in new tab).
- You will see a load of offers. If you click on ‘offers’, you should find the free cinema ticket offer there. It should say ‘A complimentary cinema ticket, on us. Once you’ve found it, click the offer.
The chances are, the offer will often say it is ‘out of stock’ because there are a limited number of tickets. The terms and conditions state codes are claimed on a first come first serve basis and while stocks last (subject to availability).
New tickets are released on a weekly basis and they are valid until 7 March. You can use the cinema ticket on any day of the week.
If you have issues claiming the offer, you can call O2 customer service on 202 from O2 Mobile or 0344 809 0202 (standard UK rate).
The trick to bagging a ticket before they sell out
The offer says codes are released at 2pm on Wednesdays.
So if you want to be in the chance of getting a free Odeon ticket, make sure you’re on the O2 Priority app or website and are ready to claim the offer.
The likelihood of you trying to bag a ticket on any other day other than a Wednesday is slim, as the freebie is highly popular.
Despite being limited to claiming one ticket per week, you can go back every week and claim until the offer stands.
If you go with other friends or family, they must pay for their tickets. If they have claimed their own O2 code, they can use this at the same time you use your code.
Which Odeon cinemas accept the offer?
Most UK Odeon Cinemas will accept your O2 code except in the following formats and locations:
- BFI
- IMAX
- 3D
- Odeon Leicester Square
- Odeon Luxe and Dine
- Republic of Ireland
- Odean Event Cinema
- Premieres
- Special events or screenings
- Events not open to the general public
The offer is only valid for 2D screenings.
I am a Virgin Media customer, can I get this offer?
Active Virgin Media customers with fixed broadband, TV or phone can take advantage of the O2 Priority app and its offers.
But Virgin Mobile customers are not eligible.
