The popular Boots Advantage Card is making some changes to its points offering- how many points will you get for every £1 and what new offers will be available?
Just like the best supermarket loyalty schemes on the market, the Boots Advantage card is among one of the most popular rewards cards, bagging you points when you spend online or in-store.
But with Boots changing its points policy, you might not be able to earn as many points for every pound you spend - we have all the details.
Boots Advantage Card points
Right now, shoppers who use the Boots Advantage Card earn four points for every £1 spent, but from May this will change to 3 points for every £1 spent. This will come into effect in early May (an exact date has not been confirmed yet).
The good news is that some of the existing offers with an Advantage Card will still be sticking around:
- Every point is still worth 1p. You can spend your points online or in-store and every point is still worth 1p. But note, you cannot pay for a purchase using part points and part money. You can only use your points on a purchase if it covers the full cost.
- You get double points on your birthday month. The only change here is from May, instead of collecting eight points for £1, this will be cut down to six points for every pound.
- Members of the over-60s rewards and Parenting Club. still get eight points per pound on certain goods- mostly on baby products and Boots own-brand items.
- Offers such as £10 Tuesdays and Freebie Fridays will continue on the Boots Website (opens in new tab).
New offers available from May 2023
As well as the change in points, there will be more discounts you can get with a Boots Advantage Card in other ways.
- 10% off Boots own brand products. You will be able to get 10% off more than 6,000 Boots branded products. This does not include any Boots exclusive brands for example Liz Earle and No7 or pharmaceuticals.
- More than 800 products will have a ‘price advantage’ price with up to one-third off. These are exclusive discounts on everyday products that are available to Advantage Card Holders.
Boots has told MoneySavingExpert (opens in new tab) that there will be more opportunities to earn extra points on the Boots app (opens in new tab), for example a new ‘scratch to win’ function.
